How It Works
AVI 3D HomeScan is our quickest and most affordable solution to owning a complete inventory of your personal property, as recommended by your insurance company. For a fraction of the cost of other methods and in just a few hours, you’ll have a comprehensive 3D video of all your personal property. Our highly-trained professional 3D camera operators capture an insurance-approved visual inventory, including all your possessions and the architectural features of your home, both inside and out, weather permitting.
What You Will Receive
When your 3D scan is completed, the resulting interactive video is yours alone, stored for you in our secure encrypted database. You’ll have unlimited access to tag items and order optional certified appraisals. This information is especially valuable during a potential claims process after a catastrophic loss by theft, fire, wind damage, or flood. In case of a claim, your broker will require proof of ownership and value, and sadly, most homeowners won’t have a record.
Pricing
Pricing for 3D HomeScan is based on the square footage of your home. When you provide your square footage and zip code, you’ll receive an Instant Estimate. When you decide to schedule your 3D HomeScan, you will be charged a 50% deposit. The remainder will be due after your scan at the time of your 3D HomeScan video delivery. Your final price will be based on the actual square footage scanned and the difference will be either credited or added to the final payment amount. Once your final payment is made, your scan will be available in your AVI account.
Why You May Need Appraisals:
AVI provides all types of appraisals for our clients. Here are a few of the reasons you may need a USPAP¹ certified appraisal for one or more of your personal property assets:
- Your homeowners or renters insurance covers your home’s contents. For standalone homes, contents coverage is usually calculated as a percentage of your home’s brick and mortar value. For multi-resident structures such as condominiums, contents is covered under the “Additions and Alterations” value. In case of a total loss, Schedule C or Additions and Alterations would dictate the maximum amount of your potential settlement. Unfortunately, without detailed records, your claim settlement may be less. Your broker recommends an inventory of your contents for this reason. 3D HomeScan is so detailed, we can actually measure and appraise items directly from the video.
- Some homeowners may wish to purchase additional insurance coverage for high-value items. This coverage, called Valuable Articles Coverage (VAC) or riders, insures items at their appraised value.
- Many homeowners purchase item appraisals out of curiosity, or to sell or donate an item to charity.
